When the sea meets the sky
As french we often wait for the “Moon to meet the Sun” but in photography, we have some craziness but we love when the sea meets the sky.
In color and in B&W, these moment are unique, resulting in light and situation paradox. This sensation of unity and immensity is then multiplied and intensified.
On this specific picture, it is difficult, not impossible, to distinguish the sky from the sea and tell if the boat is floating or flying :)
Little Tech Talk
Upon request from my friend Matthieu, let’s have a little technical point here!
Depth of field in landscape photography is critical to avoid a too “flat” picture. One good trick is to have a first blurry object increasing this sensation.
Then when we talk about gear, I used my Leica M10 Monochrome with my summilux 35mm 1.4, I used a medium aperture here as thanks to my little trick the field of depth was highlighted by the first plan.
