The power of direct light

Escaping from direct light! Direct light gives sharp image angles and lines. It is always helping with perspective definition and helps to outline the key subject of your image. It helps in composition and story telling.

On this picture, what I particularly like is the direct sun light on the whole image contrasted by the soft light on the face of the lady in the front of the image. So shadows and lines are very sharp but her face is soften and more warm.

Little Tech Talk

The whole difficulty is to get the focus right and the depth of field short so she can be detached from the background.
